Burnside
Burnside
An upper middle class suburb in Adelaide's east, popular with families, executives and professionals.

Burnside, Adelaide (6-10km)

Burnside is one of the most chi chi areas of Adelaide and is typical of many of the eastern suburbs. The City of Burnside has many smaller suburbs including those in the foothills, and is home to some of Adelaide's wealthiest people. - the quaffed, well groomed, ladies-who-lunch types. It is the establishment epicentre with plenty of families and a well educated ageing population. The houses are large and established, the streets are tree lined and clean, and the schools are of the private variety. There's no sign here of riff raff. Jolly good. Even the birds are charming. Burnside is a 10 minute drive east of the city centre, it's close to the Adelaide foothills, some picturesque green open spaces, Stonyfell winery and the Burnside Village shopping centre where beauty parlours, shoe shops, cafes and gourmet food abound. The Trak Cinema is opposite the shopping village and screens great art house movies. If you move to Burnside and the surrounds, put you feet up, have a Pimm's and lemonade and smile. Ah, life was meant to be easy.
