Grange
A relaxed Adelaide beach suburb popular with families, retirees, and laid back lifestyle fans
Grange, Adelaide (10-15km)
Grange is one of the nicest beach suburbs in Adelaide, 12km west from the city centre. While Glenelg is all action, Grange is quiet, peaceful, and genuinely friendly. The sand is clean, and one of the nicest things you can do while in Adelaide is have fish and chips on this beach. Architecturally, there's a mix of ugly 1960's/70's flats, great limestone period homes, and modern townhouses with lots of glass. There are families, kids, singles and professionals, oldies and a small Italian community here - all of whom love the relaxed lifestyle and waking up to fresh sea air. Most people who do live here are aged between 25-54. The local shopping village is small but very functional and there are some great cafes including the Grange Jetty cafe. While you could live here without a car, having one will make life easier. (More info below and to your left <<<)
