Cremorne
Superb harbour views from a tranquil suburb
Cremorne, Sydney (lower north shore)
Cremorne is an affluent, hilly, picturesque harbour suburb. It’s got plenty of big houses and high-rise apartments in wide-tree lined streets, where rents and property prices are on the higher side. It’s a safe suburb with great water views, and a long harbour walk with stunning scenery. And it is home to one of the best preserved Art Deco cinemas in Australia - the Orpheum. There are many different bus lines that service Cremorne, and quite a few cafes and restaurants. Traffic on the main thoroughfare, Military Rd, can be a nightmare during peak hour. Cremorne attracts families, professionals, the old, the young, couples and singles and anyone who prefers the quieter life but is after quality and convenience. Outsiders criticise Cremorne for being monocultural and boring. People who live there think it's a jewel of a place to live. Neighbouring Cremorne Point is a picturesque suburb on the harbour with a regular ferry service to Circular Quay. (More info below and to your left <<<)
