Gladesville
Gladesville
A family suburb that by Sydney standards is still affordable.

Gladesville, Sydney (north shore)

Gladesville is a family type suburb on the Parramatta River. It's biggest claim to fame is that one of Australia's best poets, Banjo Paterson, lived here as a kid/teenager. While Gladesville is located on the harbour, it has no bells and whistles. Instead, it is quite down to Earth, meaning it is more affordable than some other suburbs in the same area, but only just. Being a family suburb, there is a good choice of schools. The main road, Vicotoria Rd, cuts through the suburb bringing with it a lot of traffic noise. The residential streets are a lot quieter.

Gladesville has a combination of apartments, newer homes and period brick homes on larger blocks. It is a fairly multicultural place with some good food shops on Victoria Rd offering a range of Indian,Thai and Italian eateries. (More information below and to your left <<< )
