Rozelle
Small, independent shops and cafes
Rozelle, Sydney (inner west)
Rozelle is the upmarket organic hub of Sydney. It’s got some great cafes, restaurants and shops, a weekly second hand or flea market, a good community feel and lots of Victorian era workers’ cottages, many of which have been renovated. It’s right next door to Balmain and has all of the good points of Balmain, but in a more relaxed setting. (More info below and to your left <<<)

Balmain can come across as having a "too cool for school" attitude. And if you find that's the case and you have no time for it, head to Rozelle.
Rozelle is close to the city, though being so close to traffic congested Victoria St can also be very frustrating. It's got good access to a long harbour walk, large parks, and is close to other interesting Sydney suburbs - namely Balmain, Leichhardt and Glebe.
Parking can be hard. The vibe: organic fruit juice and coffee. Shoe equivalent: Birkenstocks, black work shoes. Would suit: ages 30+, professionals, community minded people, singles, couples, families, gays, and empty nesters. Location: harbour, inner city. Postcode: 2039. Distance: 5km from city centre: Direction: North West.
