The two main shopping streets in St Kilda re Fitzroy Street and Acland Street.
Both have a big number of cafes, homewares, clothing and shoe stores. Some bars too. They're interesting to check out.

Carlsle St in Balacalva is a great shopping destination. Why?
The food shopping is good. Carlisle St has a strong Russian influence, lots of delicatessens, butchers, fruit and veg shops not yet driven out by cafes, boutiques and high rents like in Acland and Fitzroy Streets.

The No 96 tram along the Esplanade and Fitzroy St makes it easy to get from St Kilda to the South Melbourne market Great produce at cheap rpices.
