Gladesville
A family suburb that by Sydney standards is still affordable.
Gladesville, Sydney (north shore)
This is a family type suburb on the Parramatta River. It's biggest claim to fame is that one of Australia's best poets, Banjo Paterson, lived here as a kid/teenager. While Gladesville is located on the harbour, it has no bells and whistles. Instead, it is quite down to Earth, meaning it is more affordable than some other suburbs in the same area, but only just. (More information below and to your left <<< )
The main road is a little off putting because it is noisey, but the residential streets are fine.
Public transport is good with both buses and a ferry service. Parking is fine. The vibe: 9 - 5. Shoe equivalent: runners. Would suit: families, older singles. Location: 5 - 10 km from city centre. Postcode: 2111. Distance: 9.5km from city centre. Direction: North west.
